The past couple of posts I have of Singapore are all of the older parts of the city as well those of the heritage district in Joo Chiat. Today, I found another iPhone wonder in my files (amazing how my phone capture the colors reflecting on the water!).
Thought I’d start putting up these photos to give people a glimpse of a different side to the country. This is Clarke Quay. It is located in the heart of the city. It is also blaring with music streaming from the rows of pubs lining the river, it is packed with tourists and locals alike, and it is a very popular night spot where people hang out during the weekend.
I rarely venture here because for the very reasons I mentioned above
There is an exception, however. See that building that says The Central? That is the only reason I come to the place, because that building houses various Japanese restaurants.
And it’s where I get my favorite ramen — the same restaurant we stumbled upon in Kyoto.
That ramen deserves a post of its own — soon!

This was a great shot of Clarke Quay. I hear that the Japanese restaurants there serve some of the best ramen that you can find in Singapore. It will be a delight to read a post on your visit to one of these restaurants and as always be sure to take a photo.
Got lucky with my phone
Thanks for dropping in and reminding me about this. I will definitely post pics from our fave resto Santouka, which we first discovered in Kyoto.
