From The Sketchbook | The Art Of Procrastination

Here’s the very first travel sketch done in 2007 which I found in a battered notebook.  It was my first time to travel alone and I just about hit midday rush-hour in the subway  in Tokyo.

I chose to sit and wait it out for 20 more minutes rather than squeeze myself in the crushing crowd.  Whiling the time away meant trying to look productive as I sat on a lonely bench beside a vending machine as a sea of humanity passed me by in batches. I pick up my errand notebook (not even a journal!) and did a fast drawing of the subway platform in Shimbashi station.

By 1pm, the station clears, leaving no trace of the earlier lunch time madness.
