When I was a kid, I enjoyed munching on those Horlicks tablets — small, blue foil pack with white, milky malt tablets. They had chocolate malt tablets too (before Ovalteenies) in a red pack but I wasn’t too keen about that.
Somehow, over the years, these just disappeared. I have not seen it in two decades, and now even the Nilla Wafers are difficult to find as well.
THE ONLY TIME I HATE CHANGE IS WHEN IT COMES TO MY FAVORITE FOOD!
Grrr.
(and when people flake out at the last minute)
Luckily, Singapore sells Horlicks but as bottled powdered malt drinks. It occurred to me the other day to make the most of it. So here we have my first Horlicks cookie experiment.
Not the same as the hard tablets but I managed to achieve that milky taste in every bite I’ve been yearning for
Horlicks is love!

Omg I loved those too, and the Ovaltinies as well. Never realised they were gone!
I love Horlicks. The food equivalent of meditation!
I agree — what a great way of describing it
