Paying homage to our indigenous roots and celebrating the deep tones and gorgeous glow of the dusky and brown-skinned woman.

I began working on the floral background early December 2018 but it came to a halt because of a whopping creative block. It remained in a raggedy state of uncertainty until I returned to the easel last week. By the time I came back, the huge shift in energy had cause me to lose my bearings and was on the verge of buying a new canvas to start all over.

But out of curiosity, I decided to soldier on just to see what would happen if I didn’t give up on this piece.

And her she is.
